Creating a Photography Course: The Behind-the-Scenes Struggle and Triumph
Creating photography education and a full course like The Reframe Method from scratch is like embarking on a crazy, uncharted expedition. As a seasoned photographer, I’ve always been eager to share my knowledge. But diving headfirst into course creation was a completely different beast. Let me walk you through the rollercoaster ride of creating The Reframe Method (which I am still working on).
The Daunting Challenges of Course Creation
1. Finding direction and getting organized: As someone who’s spent countless hours behind the lens, it was humbling to realize that crafting a structured, engaging learning experience is a skill in itself. I had doubts, confusion, questioned my ability to articulate complex concepts in a digestible and fun manner.
2. Building a Comprehensive Curriculum: Deciding what to include and exclude was a daunting task. My approach to my photography business is very different to the norm, and I take pride in that! But narrowing down the essential elements while maintaining depth was a delicate balancing act.
3. Still figuring out the Technicalities: From learning video editing to understanding course platforms, the technical aspects are a steep learning curve. Like I keep saying, I wish I was Trinity from The Matrix and could just load up the knowledge I need directly to my brain!
4. Designing Engaging Workbooks and Template: Photography is visual, but translating that into a digital PDFs require creativity and innovation. Finding ways to make the course interactive and enjoyable is a constant challenge.
The Joy of Bringing The Reframe Method to Life
Despite the hurdles, the process of creating The Reframe Method is incredibly rewarding.
1. The Thrill of Sharing Knowledge: The thought of seeing my love for photography ignite a spark in others is immensely fulfilling. Each module I am designing brings me closer to empowering seasoned and aspiring photographers.
2. Building a Community: Connecting with fellow photographers through the course creation process could be inspiring, I hope so! I will be looking for support and feedback.
3. Overcoming Challenges and Growing: Every obstacle conquered is a testament to my resilience and adaptability. The journey has transformed me into a more confident and well-rounded creator.
Conclusion
Creating The Reframe Method has been a transformative experience. It’s taught me that even the most seasoned professionals face challenges when venturing into new territories. But with perseverance, passion, and a willingness to learn, it’s possible to overcome obstacles and create something truly impactful.
